Phillips Foundation Award

At the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., Colleen recently accepted the Distinguished Conservative Leader of the Year Award from The Phillips Foundation; past winners include Sen. John Sununu (NH), Rep. Paul Ryan (WI) and Rep. Adam Putnam (FL)

 

Catholic Press Association Award

Colleen's bimonthly Lay Witness column, “Finding God in All Things,” won third place for Best Regular Column in a magazine in the Catholic Press Association’s 2008 Press Awards. In their award commentary, CPA's judges said Colleen “shows near complete mastery of the topics she covers” and writes about controversial topics “without resorting to demagoguery but while still unequivocally stating her views. That is quite an accomplishment.”


Vatican Congress on Women

Colleen recently presented a copy of her book, The New Faithful, to Pope Benedict XVI in Rome, where she was serving as a North American delegate to an international Vatican Congress on women. Sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Laity, the Congress convened 260 participants from 49 countries to discuss the role of women in the Church and society.
